Bohlin Cywinski Jackson Home on Henry Island Gets Price Chop

New, 3 comments

Last August we wrote about a property that takes up an impressive chunk of Henry Island that protects Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. Live in a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2,717 square foot estate designed by the Bohlin Cywinski Jackson architectural firm. Then, they asked $3.75M. Now, they're asking $2.895M; a drop of $855K, enough to buy a nice home on the mainland. On Henry it gets you ~24 acres that border San Juan Preservation Trust land, effectively creating a much bigger buffer. You get to live in the luxuries of a quietly modern, signature piece of artistic architecture surrounded by nature, surrounded by a saltwater moat, while also being close to the civilization and culture of Roche Harbor Resort and San Juan Island, and close enough to Seattle and Vancouver if you don't mind float plane rides. Maybe it is because it is on an island off an island that's hours from Seattle. Will that >20% price drop finally entice someone to drop by and buy? Has someone in the last year finally decided they need a sanctuary that is remote, but not too remote? We'll be watching, especially if the price is chopped again.
