See What The 101-Story Seattle Skyscraper Might Look Like

New, 7 comments

The early design guidance meeting for the proposed 101-story tower at Fourth & Columbia won't happen until November 17. However an early copy of the packet is out and we can finally get a sense of what developer Crescent Heights and LMN Architects have in store. Keeping in mind these are massings and not renderings and therefore lack the architectural detail sure to come, they're presenting three options for the 1,111-foot skyscraper that would become Seattle's tallest building. The preferred design (C) offers a segmented look meant to cut down on the monolithic nature of such structures while also creating "neighborhoods" within the building. Option A is a bit more straight-forward while Option B breaks the exterior down with undulations. According to the packet, plans call for around 1,150 residential units, 200 hotels rooms, 150,000 square-feet of office space, 15,000 square-feet of retail space, 28,000 square-feet of amenity space and 700 underground parking spaces. In case you're wondering, 1,111-feet would make it the 9th-tallest building in the United States and the tallest structure west of the Rockies.
