What $1,500/Month Rents You in North Seattle Right Now

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, where we scour Seattle's rental listings to see what your monthly budget will get you across the city. Today we zero in on North Seattle and see what you can get above Lake Union for $1,500/month. You tell us which lease you'd sign.

Let's begin in Ballard where you can get a 497 sf. 1-BR at Urbana for $1,529/mo. They pack all the expected amenities into that tiny space, including stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, wood-style flooring and 9-foot ceilings. Easy to stay in shape with a fitness center and bike tune-up & storage area. Ideally-located for someone who wants to take advantage of the Ballard nightlife.

Next, let's pop over to Fremont where you can get a 444 sf. open 1-BR at Vibe for $1,495/mo. If being close to the Fremont nightlife sounds better, this might be your spot. The unit is modern and sleek, though there isn't too much privacy in the bedroom so it's best for one person.

Next we head up to Greenlake where you can get a 618 sf. live/work unit at Circa Greenlake for $1,500/mo. Not only good for the self-employed but also for the eco-friendly. The building features Energy Star rated appliances, natural and recycled content flooring and a green roof system.

Now it's up to Northlake where a 625 sf. 1-BR at Northlane Apartments will run you $1,495/mo. It's an older building and lacking in all those modern amenities but if you're a commuter, want a little more space for your money or just really want to be close to the mall, it might be up your alley.

Finally we end in University District and a 469 sf. open 1-BR at Muriel's Landing for $1,540/mo. This is an "active building," which means residents will build a profile and connect with those around them. You're either into that or you're not.
