243-Unit Columbia City Mixed-User Looks For Approval

Lake Union Partners and Johnston Architects are presenting plans for a mixed-use complex in Columbia City before the design review board this evening for a recommendation. Plans call for two 5-to-7-story structures on the corner of Rainier Avenue South and South Alaska Street, separated by a 9,800-square-foot courtyard. 243 residential units will sit on top of 24,700 square feet of office and retail space as well as 245 below grade parking spots and parking behind the complex. Residences will run the gamut of size, from studios up to two-bedroom apartments as well as two live-work spaces. Up top, a rooftop deck is expected to include amenities such as a fire pit, dog run and bocce court.
