The Curbed Cup Neighborhood of the Year Is South Lake Union!

Sixteen neighborhoods entered, but only one emerged victorious: South Lake Union is officially the 2015 Curbed Cup winner!

It was a clash of titans in the final as defending-champion Columbia City brought it's usual voting strength with it. However, No. 13-seeded SLU proved it's mettle by collecting just enough votes to put it over the top in the end. 2,483 votes were cast and South Lake Union won by a scant 45. It's confirmation that the neighborhood in the middle of Seattle isn't just about Amazon and Vulcan. The people who call it home are proud of what's rising from the dusty warehouses and empty buildings that used to be here. Now, it's safe to say South Lake Union is an important hub from which the rest of Seattle is spinning around. Congrats, SLU—Now go celebrate!
