Tonight, developer Chong & Co. and designer Caron Architecture bring their plans for an apartment project just off Rainier Avenue South on the northern edge of Rainier Valley before the design review board.
The plan calls for a six-story, 100-unit building at 2016 23rd Avenue S. that includes a 2,800 square-foot pedestrian plaza along Rainier Avenue to encourage more foot traffic. The residential portion of the proposal would share the lot with a pair of commercial spaces that include 5,800 square feet of space. 41 underground parking stalls would be available for residents, as would bike storage, and a rooftop deck.
The residential units will be a mixture that ranges from studios to two-bedrooms and one wing of the complex may include furnished apartments.
