Roosevelt apartment complex wants you in it’s Nook

New, 1 comment

With all the Roosevelt apartment complexes on the way, you’ve got to find a way to stand out

Hive Apartments and Board & Vellum bring their plans for a mixed-use project at 6717 Roosevelt Way NE before the design review board tonight for a potential recommendation. Let’s take a look around.

The proposal calls for a seven-story, mixed-use building with 106 residences, 3,596 square-feet of ground-floor commercial space, and below-grade parking for 36 cars. Plans also call for a bike room, fitness area, and rooftop deck with pet area.

The heart of the complex is what they’re referring to as The Nook. Located in the center of the complex, this is the point where multiple public walkways intersect in the middle. Visible from the street in order to draw non-residents in, the space is designed to be welcoming and will include seating, built-in bookcases with a lending library, and fireplace fixture. The complex wants to blur the lines between residential, commercial, and public space in oder to create a mini-plaza effect.

Located on the southwest corner of NE 68th Street and Roosevelt Way NE, that’s just a few walkable blocks from the future light rail station that will be coming to the neighborhood in 2021.
