$13M Mercer Island waterfront home has room for your seaplane

Luxury home, private waterfront, lighthouse guest house, and even a spot for your seaplane

For all the expensive homes to be found on Mercer Island, there are currently only four that top the asking price of $10M. A new home just hit the market and it's gunning for $13M.

The five bedroom, 10,030 square-foot whopper of a residence can be found on a three-quarter acre lot near the southwestern tip of the island. That means full-on views of Mount Rainier and South Seattle. The first thing you'll probably notice is what's going on outside. There's your requisite 100-foot private dock but to up the ante it comes with a seaplane lift. You know, for your seaplane.

We don't get a good look at what's going on inside the house but the listing tells us that "soaring ceilings give an airiness and volume to each room," so who are we to argue? All of the bedrooms are ensuite and the master suite comes with it's own "private getaway," whatever that might entail.

Guests can stay in the lighthouse retreat located on the property. It's not entirely clear if the lighthouse actually works or if that's just the design but you can tell people you stayed in a lighthouse either way. They're not going to check.
