Capitol Hill’s Oddfellows building available for $30M

Originally built in 1908, this classic Seattle structure is in the heart of the Pike/Pine district.

Built in 1908, Oddfellows Hall/Oddfellows Building on the corner of East Pine Street and 10th Street in Capitol Hill was for a long time "a cultural nucleus and point of convergence for community and arts organizations.” Capitol Hill Seattle says that these days it “embodies pretty much everything — good and bad and in between — that Pike/Pine has become.” However you feel about it, it’s up for sale asking $30 million.

According to CHS, the six-person partnership that owns the building aren’t thinking sale-only. They’re also “exploring other opportunities, including exchanging into a different asset class.”

The 76K square-foot building is 100 percent leased and is home to various types of businesses including OddFellows Cafe, Century Ballroom, The Tin Table, Molly Moon’s, and Seattle Running Co.

The second and third floors were originally performance halls: They boast 25-foot ceilings and ornate period detail. An additional performance theater is located on the 4th floor, it also offers 25-foot ceilings and is currently occupied by a gaming company. No other building in Seattle offers this unique conglomeration of creative, active, design-oriented work spaces.

Westlake Associates tells CHS that the sale is limited and if they don’t find a buyer the owners are happy to continue keeping it in their portfolio.
