Lake Washington waterfront mansion lists for $5.45M

A tall ship’s prow of a living room juts out to make a statement

This 7,190 square foot $5,450,000 house proudly stands out on Lake Washington’s shore south of Newport Yacht Club in Bellevue. Its size is enough to make it noticeable. Four tiers of windows angle towards the water as if it were a cathedral. This is not a house for subtlety.

When you have a prime property, make good use of it. Start with 1.55 acres of waterfront. That’s uncommon. Add a 120 foot dock and equip it with two boat lifts. A home for the beginning of your fleet. The water is relatively protected because it is on the east side of Mercer Island, few crashing waves, here.

Inside, it probably wasn’t hard to fit in a billiards room, an extensive wine cellar, a weight room, and a tiered theater with acoustic baffling. Double staircases curve down to the entry, but most guests will walk between them into a living room tall enough for drone flights. The house is arranged for entertaining with a large kitchen and a dining area backed by a long line of windows, so at least half the guests can enjoy the view. Maybe you can rotate seats with each course.

Another entertaining area has been built outside that includes an outdoor kitchen and sitting area with access to a broad patio and lawn. Grill the catch of the day, if you decide to fish the lake.

At its core, the house has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. The master bath is part of an altar in an alcove decorated with columns and murals. There’s even a mural of a skylight, to make sure you bathe in good weather.

Access is controlled by a gated entry. Swing it wide for guests who will fill the abundant parking. Swing it shut when you want privacy in your personal enclave.
