It's Curbed Cup time! Help pick 2016's best Seattle neighborhood

Can South Lake Union become the first repeat champ or will a new Seattle ‘hood step up?

It's almost the end of the year and that means one thing: time to pick the best Seattle neighborhood.

Nominations for the 2016 Curbed Cup are ongoing and we're accepting them through this week. For those unfamiliar, we'll be choosing 16 Seattle neighborhoods to square off beginning next week in reader polls, round by round, until one emerges triumphant. We want you to help pick that bracket.

Nominate a 'hood (or seven) in the comments below. Send us an email to let us know your nominations. Tweet us your nominations. Leave us a Facebook message with your nominations. However you want to give them to us, we will take your nominations!

We'll tally them all up to determine the 16 Seattle neighborhoods that deserve to be put up for a vote. Remember to provide your reasons for why the neighborhood should be in the running for the Curbed Cup. What made it special this year? Which developments should people be aware of? Which new trends make it better than before?

Here are the past winners, all of which are eligible this year as well:

2015: South Lake Union

2014: Columbia City

2013: Greenwood

2012: Ballard

2011: Fremont

Which neighborhood will claim the year's ultimate honor? Stay tuned.
