Cornerspotted: Instead of Loans, You Can Get Pizza & Kilts

Yesterday, we asked you to guess where Totem Pole Loans was located in 1973. Everyone who guessed got it correct but it was jenniferkirschenbaum who guessed it first: It's First Avenue at Cherry Street in Pioneer Square.

Image: Seattle Municipal Archives Totem Pole Loans has moved on to supply loans for totem poles elsewhere. Now you'll find Mario's Pizza in this spot and Utilikilts right next door. Pizza and kilts, they go great together. As we said before, you can still make a phone call right there but the phonebook has been replaced by a normal-looking pay phone. Boring.
