First Hill Site Sold, Plans For 30-Story Tower Moving Ahead

New, 1 comment

Back in August 2013, the design review board approved plans for a 30-story tower at the corner of Eighth and Columbia in First Hill. The developer, Swedish pension fund Alecta, never went through with it. Now, Daniels Real Estate is under contract to purchase the site from Alecta and take over the development to make it happen. The plans now calls for a 284-unit building with 234 parking spaces and 72 bike parking spaces. The tower is being designed for condos but that could change, depending on the market. Kevin Daniels told DJC that he would like to begin construction by the end of 2017 but he still has to go through the city review process. LMN Architects will design the building, replacing Weber Thompson, who worked on initial designs for Alecta.
