Looking For Bungalows Under $300K? Highland Park's On It

Thanks to it's proximity to Boeing Field and other industrial businesses, Highland Park is one of those Seattle spots you'd call a working-class neighborhood. Demographic and ethnically, it's got great diversity and if you pay attention to the real estate market, there always seems to be a remodeled bungalow or cottage on the market for under $400K worth a look. It just so happens that the last few days has seen three bungalows hit the market all under $300K and we couldn't help but check them out.

Like this 664 square-foot 2-BR at 7900 14th Avenue SW that's asking $299K. This 1943 Cape Cod has been well taken care of and maintains a lot of that vintage charm, especially in the kitchen. The detached shed helps create a contain space out back while the built-in benches and pavers make for a rustic back patio.

There's also the 664 square-foot 1BR at 8826 16th Avenue SW. Asking $284K, this one was built in 1921 but seems to have cleaned up real nice. That sitting room right off the front door shows the home's age but you can have some fun with that. It looks like the office is behind a curtain and could probably be a makeshift second bedroom if needed. The backyard shed looks like prime private studio space.

Now this one might say Highland Park in the listing but it looks more like "Delridge proper" to us. It's a 1946 2-BR bungalow at 9214 14 Avenue SW. Asking $299K, there's lots of period charm thanks to the classic porch and custom leaded glass windows. New stainless appliances help bring the kitchen up to speed. Out back, there's a seperate shed/studio of course. Do all the places around here come with one?
