Kebero Court, Raven Terrace and Hoa Mai Gardens are the three Yesler Terrance buildings already built or currently being built on behalf of Seattle Housing Authority. Now there's going to be a fourth.
DJC is reporting that SHA has opened up the bidding process for a fourth building at 200 Ninth Avenue as part of the 30-acre Yesler Terrace redevelopment plan. Prelimary numbers call for 130 residential units, 5,000 square-feet of community space, 75 parking spaces, and SHA management office space.
SHA is estimating the cost of the project to be $30-40 million and are accepting bids through March 18. Construction is scheduled to begin January 2017.
SRG Partnership will be the architect on the project with an assist from Pyatok Architecture + Urban Design is associate architect.
Previous development companies to win bids include Andersen Construction/GGLO (Kebero Court), Walsh Construction Co./Weber Thompson (Raven Terrace), and Andersen Construction/SMY Architect (Hoa Mai Gardens).
Ultimately, the redesigned Yesler Terrace is expected to boast 5,000 residential units (much of which will be available as affordable housing), 900,000 square feet of office space, and 153,000 square feet of retail and community space.
