Big Reveal: $2.2M For Capitol Hill Penthouse in The Shannon

This penthouse also includes $1,800/month in HOA dues, FYI.

On Tuesday, we asked you to guess the asking price for this 2-BR, 2-bath 1970 penthouse condo in Capitol Hill. Commenter uncaD was willing to go as high at $1.6M but that wasn't high enough. The actual asking price: $2.2M.

Unit PH-B is one of the penthouse units atop The Shannon, a 12-story building with 63 condos, but few with a view like this. Big ceilings allow for clerestory windows and lead you out to two private balconies. Inside, the floor plan is flexible and includes a custom kitchen with built-ins and a cool dining room that could double as a mini-library. It's the kind of place that requires a bit of financial upkeep, too. HOA dues are $1,800/month, which could rent you a pretty decent second place while you're at it.

So, now that you know, does that price sound right to you?
