Broadstone First Hill Bringing 337 New Residences to the Neighborhood

The mixed-use project wants to become a central hub of the neighborhood

Alliance Realty Partners and Encore Architects brought their plans for Broadstone First Hill back before the design review board last night for recommendation.

Plans for the mixed-use project include 337 residential units, which is down from the initial 420-unit count. 5,685 square-feet of retails space as well as 280 parking stalls are also expected. The building will be one of the first projects to engage with the recently adopted First Hill Public Realm Action Plan, which means multiple setbacks will provide space for a pocket park and retail space for a new restaurant, pub or coffee shop.

Tucked within the complex will be a central courtyard that's also reachable from the street via breezeway. The courtyard will consist of two major areas: a paved terrace and a large planted "natural area" with three specimen trees.

Clearly the hope is to create a vibrant residential corridor where residents and passersby alike will stop at the coffee shop or restaurant down below. With a Walk Score of 96 and tons of First Hill amenities and businesses surrounding it, Broadstone has a real shot at accomplishing that.
