Cornerspotter: Bambi Drive-In Drove Away a Long Time Ago

New, 1 comment

Take a guess as to where in South Seattle this old diner was located

Cornerspotter is the Curbed Seattle feature in which we show you a historical photo taken somewhere in the city and you identify the location. Impress fellow Curbed readers with your knowledge by leaving guesses in the comments or send them to our tipline: seattle@curbed.com. We'll post the answer on Friday. And hey: no cheating!

Pictured in 1949, Bambi Drive In is no longer with us as you've probably guessed. The building actually still does exist, however, which is a bit of a surprise. Today you'll find it along a major South Seattle artery (though it was known by a different name back then). In the most recent photo we've seen the place is all boarded up now, but there's an ice cream place right next door and plenty of Vietnamese spots across the road if you're still hungry.

So, any idea what street this place is located at? Double points if you can give the closest intersection.
