Here in Seattle we like to do things a little differently. We're a bit more open that most and a bit more adventurous. We've got legal weed, superheroes, and a giant subterranean drill burrowing underneath us. We're cool like that.
So we're not saying that holding an event called the "Netflix & Chill" Open Air Festival in Volunteer Park is off the table. We just want to make sure everyone's on the same page about what, exactly, is happening at said festival.
According to the Facebook page, it's about "transforming the Volunteer Park into the largest free open air movie theater the city has ever seen" all in the name of a new Spotted app.
Take your partners, bring your friends, pack your favorite snacks and grandma’s picnic blanket and enjoy the best movies and series on Netflix with hundreds of other people.
See now, the part about bringing grandma's picnic blanket is the part that concerns us because as we take a step back at the name of your event, we're reminded of the official definition of "Netflix & Chill," via Seattish:
"It means that you are going to go over to your partners house and f*** with Netflix in the background."
AGAIN, we're cool if that's what everyone's signed up. We're just concerned that a bunch of people are going to show up with grandma's picnic blanket, get all cozy, get ready to watch Narcos and then all of a sudden everyone around them starts getting naked.
The event isn't until July 9 so we've all got plenty of time to figure out once and for all what kind of Netfix & Chilling we're going to be doing in Volunteer Park that night.
