Developer Mack Urban and architect CollinsWoerman are bringing revised plans for their 43-story tower at 1001 John Street in South Lake Union before the design review board on May 4 for recommendation.
Once calling for 430 residential units, the revised plan comes in at 404 apartments with 1,200 square feet of retail down below as well as 300 parking spaces.
Because of the 53-foot grade change from John Street to Terry Avenue, a hillclimb will be built into the property. There will also be a 24/7 public elevator next to the hillclimb that takes people from street level to an overlook plaza with sitting areas.
The public entry plaza will align with John Street and function as the "front door" of the complex The en-try plaza will be the site of the primary lobby and include short-term parking and drop-off for three cars.
Up top there will be another sitting deck complete with lounge chairs and plenty of amenity space.
Mack Urban tells DJC that they hope to begin construction next year.
