Many folks in Capitol Hill were not pleased to find out that the Piecora's Pizza building had been sold to Equity Residential back in 2014. But such are the times in this Seattle neighborhood and now they can see what the developer has in store for the corner of 14th & Madison.
Equity and architect Ankrom Moisan will present their plans for a six-story structure to the design review board on April 13 for recommendation. The plans call for 137 residential units, 3,800 square-feet of street-level commercial space and 81 below-grade parking spaces. The average size of apartments clocks in at around 606 square feet.
Retail entries will mainly be along 14th Avenue or at the corner of Madison. The setback residential entry along E Pike is intended to help provide physical separation from car-heavy Madison.
CHS says that there's still no word on who might take over that commercial space so, in theory, a pizza place could return to this spot in the end. We can dream, at least.
