Jim Olson-Designed Madrona Modern Lists For $3.5M

One half of the Olson Kundig namesake originally-designed this Madrona home in 1986

Through his own work and through the work of Olson Kundig, Jim Olson's name is synonymous with the kind of daring modern design that you might not want to meddle with. That might have been what Rick Gregerson of Gregerson Custom Homes was thinking when he did an extensive renovation of Olson's waterfront design at 737 Lake Washington Boulevard. Regardless, it still looks very much like an Olson-stamped home and it's now on the open market asking $3.5M.

From the outside, that stark, foreboding wall of windows and metal lets you know exactly who is behind the design here. Inside, whether you take the stairs or the elevator, you'll find yourself in a space perfect for art lovers, which also happens to be a hallmark of many Olson clients. Treat the living spaces like canvases for paintings or let the Lake Washington view outside those massive windows do the job.

Each of the three bedrooms located throughout include en suite bathrooms. The house also includes a fully-equipped two-bedroom, two bath mother-in-law unit, practically making it two homes in one. Out back, there's a gorgeous pool and patio setup that matches the lines of the residence and completes the distinct vision of the property.
