Revised designs for 30-story 800 Columbia tower could be approved soon

With a new developer and new architect, this 30-story, 284-unit tower could finally begin construction soon

Daniels Real Estate and LMN Architects will bring their 800 Columbia plans back before the design review board tonight for what they hope is recommendation to move forward.

A long time ago (three years), a different developer was approved to build a 30-story tower on this First Hill spot but it never happened. Daniels swooped in and purchased the site. Originally envisioned as a 284-unit building, the 30-story tower has settled on approximately 287 units with four levels of below grade parking, one level of lobby/ building services, and one level of roof deck amenities. 72 bike stalls are also included in the plans.

In addition, this current proposal retains the originally-approved Open Space Park as a feature of the grounds. The nearly 9,000 square-foot park is a two-tiered open space that will be “a significant public benefit.”
