Yesterday we asked you to guess what this Seattle intersection pictured in 1929 was.
TF206 nailed it with a guess of 9th Avenue N. and Harrison Street looking west.
The giveaway is the apartment building on the right side of the pic; it’s still there (surprisingly). Sadly, City Hardware, over what would be the photographer’s left shoulder, is closed and is due to be replaced by a 24-story apartment/retail tower.
And it’s true, City Hardware will soon be a mixed-use tower with over 290 residential units. Time marches on in South Lake Union.
