Gates Foundation CEO lists Mercer Island mansion for $8.8 million

Dr. Sue Desmond-Hellmann and husband Nicholas Hellmann bought the place in 2004

Dr. Sue Desmond-Hellmann became CEO of The Gates Foundation in 2014. Around that time, she and her husband Nicholas purchased a sprawling 8,579 square-foot Mercer Island waterfront home for $6.5 million. Now it looks like they're moving on as the 4-BR, 4-bath mansion has been listed for $8.8 million.

The view from the living room, right? We know. Its nuts.

The 1992-built residence looks very much like a residential museum in places thanks to the all-white interior features and marbles floors. Some of the side rooms, such as the entertaining area, bring in a bit of warmth, not to mention a connection to the waterfront edge just outside.

Upstairs the master suite looks like a medium-sized luxury apartment all on it's own. As for the master bath, that's the size of a smaller luxury apartment. Other notable home features include the sauna, huge garage, and what looks like a dance/workout room.

Out back, a saline pool and spa make for a great spot to spend a warm day. Beyond that you'll find a green wedge of manicured grass and a private dock because you knew there was gonna be a private dock, right?
