See what $11.8 million gets you on Mercer Island

A Mercer Island mansion asking $11.8M certainly lives up to the price tag

It says something about that the state of real estate on Mercer Island that this 5-BR, 6.75-bath that just hit the market asking $11.8 million is only the third most expensive listing currently available there.

Located at 4425 Forest Avenue SE, this place is massive at 9,790 square-feet, but then again you'd expect that at this price. The 1997 home opens to a massive foyer with huge windows overlooking Lake Washington and a sunlight roof that surrounds you in light. That's a theme that seems to continue throughout, from the living room to the dining room and kitchen. You're never more than a few feet from a window or sliding glass door.

As expected, then, the view from the master suite is phenomenal. Same goes for the master bath. Even the other bedrooms have great views, or at least quick access to a terrace with one. Speaking of, plenty of terrace and patio space out back, which include a pool boxed in by columns like you're a Roman emperor (or at least a senator). Of course it all leads out to your private dock and 178 feet of waterfront.

There's also a separate apartment included for guests. Because you're going to have guests. Oh yes, there will be guests.
