Tonight, Burrard Group and Weber Thompson will go back in front of the design review board with updated plans for their 40-story tower at 1200 Howell Street dubbed Nexus at 1200 Howell.

The number of condos included has risen from 364 to 374 while the number of parking spaces is up from 275 to 316. Those parking stalls will be spread among 12 parking levels, seven below-grade and five above. Plans still call for street-level retail as well.

Plans also call for plenty of the expected residential features, including a 7th floor amenity space atop the podium as well as a rooftop space on the 40th floor to take in more city views.

Speaking of that podium, that’s the biggest area of change from initial designs. The revised look extends the curtain wall system down from the tower across the podium while vertical fins were added to wrap around the building to help smooth the transition. Overhead protection has also been added for pedestrians.

Nexus made news in early June when potential condo buyers camped out overnight and lined up around the block for the chance to reserve one of the condos. Prices start in the low $300,000s for studios and work their way up to open one-bedrooms, two-story lofts and penthouse units that reach as high as $3,000,000.

Nexus is expected to open sometime around mid-2019.
