1405 Dexter mixed-user wants cyclists to call it home

The proposed mixed-use project will include condos and plenty of bike-centric amenities

Polygon Northwest and Weinstein A+U are taking their proposal for 1405 & 1415 Dexter Avenue N in Capitol Hill to the design review board tonight for a potential recommendation.

The proposed project, naturally called 1405 Dexter, is a ten-story mixed-use concrete building that will contain 98 condos, approximately 4,067 square feet for retail, approximately 959 square feet for a residential lobby and below-grade parking for 110-113 cars.

Per their proposal, they hope to enhance the pedestrian experience along Dexter as well as create a bicycle-friendly environment that taps into the bike-centric neighborhood around them. With a bike lane right outside the front door, that should be easy. Including a bike maintenance room will make it even easier.

Other planned amenities include a rooftop deck with dog run as well as a dog washing station on the first floor. The exterior courtyard "interlocks" with the neighboring building's courtyard in order to improve flow in the community as well.

The one-story structure currently at 1405 Dexter Avenue will be demolished.
