Barton Terrace apartments bringing efficiency to West Seattle

The proposal calls for a 70-to-80 unit apartment complex

Barton Terrace LLC and Playhouse Design Group bring their plans for an apartment complex (presumably called Barton Terrace?) in West Seattle before the design review board tonight for early design guidance.

The proposal calls for a 70-to-80 unit apartment complex with a mixture of efficiency (micro), studio, one, and two-bedroom units. There will be a rooftop deck, of course, but no parking spaces. The existing structure at 2222 SW Barton Street would be demolished to make way.

While they presented three design options, the preferred one has facades that run parallel to Barton and the alleyway. A stepped facade and large open space run adjacent to Barton as well. That version checks in at 80 total units.

The location could be a pretty good sell here. You’re right around the block from the DMV so waiting in line won’t feel quite as bad. You’re also right across the street from a big shopping center so you’ll never have to go far for food, clothing, or banking services, though the quality of said things is still up for debate.
