Luxury North Bend estate on 60 acres lists for $9.9M

Designed by architect Robert Edison Swain, this five-bedroom, 9,960 square-foot residence is a whole lot of luxury nestled in a whole lot of wilderness

North Bend was made famous as a location for some scenes in Twin Peaks but this Eastern King County mountain town has a few hidden homes tucked away as well. One such home is the one located on a sixty-acre property on Snoqualmie River that just listed for $9.9 million.

Designed by architect Robert Edison Swain as the Condit Residence, this five-bedroom, 9,960 square-foot residence is a whole lot of luxury nestled in a whole lot of wilderness. Originally built for former Boeing Chairman and CEO Phil Condit, the grounds outside the home are brimming with landscaped paths and blooming gardens to enjoy. Walk the brick paths to enter a custom home with more than a few standout features. We're partial to the spiraling entrance staircase (one of three), dining room with sliding glass walls that open to turn it into a covered patio, and the upstairs room with walls of windows and even a ceiling of windows.

Some of the rooms, including the master suite, offer up a subdued natural feeling with exposed beams and simple features. We're curious to know where the spiral staircase in the master goes. There also seems to be a nice MIL unit for guests. Down below, an atmospheric wine cellar completes the story. A detached garage has ample space and equipment for whatever car collection you bring with you.

In spite of all the luxuries, the best view of all comes from a simple concrete bench at the end of the path overlooking the river and mountains. The whole property finds a balance between the fancy and the forestry.
