$2.18M Kirkland home offers 'hint of Palm Springs'

We'd certainly believe we were in Palm Springs if we just woke up in that backyard on a nice day and didn't know any better

"A hint of Palm Springs with an Asian flair." That's how the broker babble describes the 4-BR, 3.25-bath residence at 1834 9th Street W in Kirkland, and...yeah, we can see it.

We'd certainly believe we were in Palm Springs if we just woke up in that backyard on a nice day and didn't know any better. Between the palm trees rising beside the pool and the covered barbecue pavilion you're primed for some great summer days back there. You'll probably be holding some Sunset Magazine-style dinners back there all the time.

Inside you'll find strong architectural lines, soaring ceilings, and a blending of natural elements. The soothing color palette makes for a relaxing living environment. Maybe you'll even get to keep the Chihuly-style chandeliers, but, probably not.

A lot of care went into the upstairs where spacious bedrooms and spa-like bathrooms intertwine. The Asian influence really comes into play in many of these spaces (as well as the front of the house).

We can see the garage is huge though we have to admit we weren't expecting to see a pick-up truck parked in there. We figured this for more of a convertible-type living space. Guess there are still surprises to be found here.
