Congrats Columbia City, Seattle's first repeat Curbed Cup Champion

Columbia City does it again

It’s time to announce the winner of Curbed’s super prestigious (and fake) trophy: The Curbed Cup. The purpose of the Curbed Cup competition is to allow readers to choose which Seattle neighborhood they think truly reigned supreme each year and you’ve gone ahead and whittled down the list from 16 to only one.

The 6th annual Seattle Curbed Cup is in the books and we'd like to congratulate Columbia City, the up-and-coming South Seattle neighborhood that just kept coming in each round to win the 2016 Curbed Cup Championship. They won in 2014, back when they were considered an underdog. This time they were victorious over Ballard, another previous Curbed Cup champion (2012).

Seattle is known for its mix of cultures, but few places in the nation are as diverse as Columbia City. It's also one of the greenest communities in the country. For some reason, everyone wants to build their eco-friendly home here. That's an impressive accomplishment all things considered. It also doesn't hurt to have Columbia City Theater, Geraldine's and a convenient light rail station at your disposal as well. CC defeated U District and Pioneer Square to get to the Final Four where it bested No. 3 Belltown - and then Ballard in the Final with almost 50% more votes.

Congratulations, again. Think your neighbor should rule? Well, it’s less than a year until the next Curbed Cup, plenty of time to get ready.
