Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in the Seattle area. We cast our net a little wider this week found six listings within $100 of today's price: Zillow’s estimate for rent in Seattle, $2,198.
This 650-square-foot one-bedroom apartment in Capitol Hill is in the “modern addition” of the historic Anhalt Apartments, designed by Fred Anhalt. The building allows pets and includes common courtyards and community spaces, and the apartment has in-unit laundry. It rents for $2,150 per month.
In Belltown, this “micro two-bedroom” is the size of many one-bedrooms: 632 square feet. The kitchen is still decently-sized, though, and the unit comes with a small balcony, in-unit laundry, and hardwood floors. It rents for an extremely exact $2,221 per month.
In Ballard, find a larger two-bedroom, 900 square feet, has a larger balcony. It also has a washer and dryer in-unit—but carpet instead of hardwoods. It rents for $2,150 per month with some utilities included.
Head to Gregory Heights Burien to find a whole two-bedroom house for $2,200, although it’s a little off the beaten path. Outside, has an extremely well-manicured yard with lawns and an arbor. Inside, it has large, multi-paned windows and hardwood floors in 870 square feet. Pets are allowed, too.
This ground-floor one-bedroom in South Lake Union in a newer-construction building has a private patio and outside entrance. Inside, it has hardwood floors, in-unit laundry, and 726 square feet of space. Community amenities include a game room with pinball, a bouldering wall, a dog run, and shared outdoor gear. It’s pet-friendly and rents for $2,195 per month.
In west Queen Anne, this two-bedroom apartment has an oddly shaped interior that creates a triangle-shaped balcony. It has in-unit laundry, a gas fireplace, and a full 1,100 square feet of space. No pets are allowed, though. Rent here is $2,195 per month, which comes with many utilities, including gas.
