A wrap-around deck with a fringe of grass makes this corner penthouse condo in Belltown a place to sit and watch sunsets over the Olympics and Elliott Bay, but maybe not this past week. Even if you pay the $1,900,000 price, you still can’t change the weather.
This is probably a better season to sit indoors, on the other side of the 12 foot windows. The 1,564 square foot unit was Built Green to LEED standards in 2008, so expect the insulation and the heating to be efficient and clean.
Being in the corner means city views with a bit of nature out one wall of windows, and nature views with a bit of city out the other side. Take your pick, or if you share the space, maybe each person get so pick their favorite perspective.
The kitchen abuts the balcony, which makes dinner parties easier to manage. It also lets the smoke out if your cooking gets too aggressive. One feature that makes great use of the space is the use of glass doors that slide instead of swing. The view is unobstructed, and no one has to get out of the way just to open or close door. The kitchen is equipped with a double wide fridge, a six burner cooktop, and a wine cooler, all stainless steel of course.
There are two bedrooms (one which faces the city) and two bathrooms (no need for a view there.) It is refreshing to see yet another variation on a shower door, something more like a regular door but with a visually textured surface that departs from the clear or frosted conventional choices.
A library with ladder fits, as well. In this case the ladder is needed because the book shelves have risen up to clear space for the television. Take that as commentary or chance.
