Train-commuter Sounders FC fans, rejoice: The appropriately-named Sounder, which normally only runs on weekdays, will make special runs to and from several Sounders FC games this season.
That includes this Sunday’s Sounders FC game against the New York Red Bulls.
It’s a solid option for someone who wants to enjoy the overwhelming beer selection at CenturyLink—or just doesn’t want to get stuck in game day traffic, pay for parking, or any of the myriad of other issues that come up when driving a car to a sporting event.
Plus, it’s going to be a train full of literally only Sounders fans for that mobile, pre-game camaraderie.
The trains bringing fans into the 4:00 p.m. game start in Lakewood at 1:15 p.m. or Everett at 1:45 p.m. Return trains leave King Street Station 35 minutes after the game ends.
Fare information is available on Sound Transit’s website. Standard adult fares range from $3.25 to $5.75, but it varies based on trip length, age, and other factors. Tickets can be bought in advance if you’re worried about elbowing through a crowd.
The trains end their route at King Street Station, just a few blocks away from the field and almost certainly closer than you’ll probably be able to park, anyway.
For those closer to home, Link Light Rail will be running as usual.
