The Rapidride A doesn’t go through Seattle at all, but it does connect much of South King County to surrounding cities. The bus rapid transit line runs on Pacific Highway South between the Federal Way Transit Center and the Tukwila International Boulevard Station, where riders can transfer to Link light rail.

The route is straightforward—it just runs about 12 miles north to south along the highway, with a slight turn to make it to the transit center. But it passes through a few south county suburbs along the way, from Des Moines to Kent, hitting neighborhoods from Angle Lake to Redondo Beach.

The area in the middle is rich with Boeing boom-era midcentury ramblers, with a couple of patches of condos and new construction. These homes also come at a cheaper price than they do up north, although like anywhere in the area, they’re a little pricier than they would’ve been a few years ago.

We found six notable homes along the route.
