The State Liquor Control Board released business names & rankings from lotteries for the 334 legal marijuana retail licenses in Washington State on Friday. Applicants with high scores still have more hoops to jump through in order to get their licenses, but you can consider them the frontrunners at this point. 21 stores were allocated to Seattle out of the 191 applicants who made it through the pre-screening process to qualify. SoDo was the big neighborhood winner with eight applicants while Ballard snagged five of their own. A stretch on Aurora Avenue near Greenwood ended up with three while Rainier Avenue South, a popular spot for medical marijuana dispensaries, got shut out. Check out our map below of the 21 applicant addresses. Remember, they're not all guaranteed to get their licenses, and a lot of these company names are placeholders (at least we hope they are), but for now, they're the frontrunners.
