Mapping Seattle's Best Make-Out Spots According to Reddit

View as Map

[Kelly Sue DeConnick]

An urgent plea went up on Reddit Seattle on Tuesday that demanded immediate response and action. "I've a kind of date....anyhow, it is all supposed to end up in a spot where we can make out like teenagers in the car. I really need suggestions. Bonus points for a view of the sunset." And so, Redditors came to the rescue, offering up smooching suggestions from the obvious (Golden Gardens) to the slightly disturbing (atop a Park & Ride) to the extremely mobile (A ferry to Whidbey Island). We've compiled all of the best Seattle-area spots for a sunset-themed, make-out sesh and we leave it to you, dear reader, to try out or not try out any of them.

Top Floor of Eastgate Park & Ride

As one person noted, "Not a bad spot to watch the Blue Angels when they are practicing. They fly right over there." Probably not the best spot for privacy between 7-9am and 4-6pm.

Golden Gardens Park

"I would recommend getting out of the car, and making out like teenagers on the beach. But if the car is a must, there is a huge parking lot."

Salmon Bay Dock End

"What people don't realize is that you can drive onto the dock and park at the end, sort of... You get an awesome view of 15th Ave W and Ballard. It's fairly quiet and out of the way at the same time." Should also be noted that "It's not exactly legal."

Bhy Kracke Park

"Its a little gem and you get a pretty ridiculous view of downtown and Lake Union." Image: Joshua Daniel Franklin

Sunset Hill Park

"Sunset Hill is a touch more private, safer (if that's actually a concern) and a better view in my opinion than the other options. It's close to Golden Gardens but few people go there and it's the same view except you're about 200' or so higher..."

Don Armeni Boat Ramp

"The Don Armeni boat ramp parking lot in West Seattle has an unhindered view of the skyline and is usually just a few cars and a cop rolling through periodically."

Carkeek Park

"Sunset over the Olympics with the ocean right below you? You're welcome."

Parsons Gardens

"Kerry Park? Pretty public. Just down Highland is Parson's Garden..."

Marshall Park Overlook

This spot is "less crowded and every bit as scenic" as some of Queen Anne's more notable spots.

Mukilteo Ferry Terminal

"The ferry to Whdbey Island. Gorgeous"
